Morning: Enchanting Èze
Take Bus 82 early from XVe Corps, in Nice – We made sure to get the first bus to Èze. It was the best decision ever. The bus fills up quickly, and those who got on after us had to stand the entire way. Pro tip: Take one of the first buses of the day. You’ll be one of the first ones in Èze and it’ll be less crowded.
Walking the narrow streets of Èze – Wandering through the village’s winding streets feels like stepping into a medieval fairytale. The charming stone buildings, ivy-covered walls, and stunning archways create a magical atmosphere. Every turn reveals something new—hidden courtyards, artisan shops, and breathtaking views of the sea below.
Jardin Exotique (€8 per person) – Èze is a fairy-tale village perched on a hilltop, and the Exotic Garden is the crown jewel. The winding paths are lined with cacti and succulents, and the view from the top is out of this world. It feels like you’re standing on top of the world, gazing down at the shimmering Mediterranean. Tickets to enter cost 8 euros per person and you can either purchase them online or in person.
Église d’Èze – The Église d’Èze is a charming little church where you can light a candle for a loved one and take a peaceful moment away from the crowds.
Grab snacks from the market – Near the bus stop, there’s a small market where you can grab fresh fruit, pastries, and drinks. Perfect for a quick energy boost before heading to Monaco!

Travel from Èze to Monaco – There’s multiple ways to get from Èze to Monaco. You can take a bus, Uber or a train. Important to note that for the train, you need to hike down the mountain as the train station is at the bottom of the hill. Personally, we didn’t chose this option as we heard it’s a steep hike. We took an Uber and it took about 15 minutes to get from Èze to Monaco, making it easy to fit into your Nice itinerary.
Explore Monaco Marina – Get ready to feel poor! The yachts here are absolutely massive, each one looking more luxurious than the last. It’s fun to walk around and daydream about what life would be like on one of these floating palaces.
Walk the F1 Grand Prix Track – If you’re an F1 fan, you know about the Monaco track! We walked a section of the track, imagining the roaring engines and the thrill of the race. At the hairpin turn, you can also see quite a few luxurious cars driving around.
Monte Carlo Casino – The grand architecture and lavish decor inside are enough reason to visit, even if you don’t plan on gambling. It truly feels like stepping into a James Bond movie.
Shopping – If high-end shopping is your thing, Monaco is the place to splurge! The Metropole Shopping Center is home to designer brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Cartier. Return to Nice – Getting from Villefranche-sur-Mer to Nice is easy with several scenic options. The quickest is the 15-minute train ride, offering beautiful coastal views. Alternatively, a bus ride takes around 30 minutes, or you can opt for a taxi or rideshare. Personally, we took the train as it was simple and affordable.
